This event has now sold out.

A charity golf day will be held on Friday 14 August 2020, in aid of Mountbatten Hampshire, formerly known as Countess Mountbatten Hospice.

Joe Tierney is organising the event at Boundary Lakes Golf Club to raise funds for the hospice, in memory of his father, Stephen Tierney, who died in December last year.

“When speaking to many friends and fellow golfers about the idea, I was surprised by how many people have had a connection with the hospice,” said Joe.

“I would like to hold this event in memory of all those Mountbatten Hospice has helped over the years.

“Personally speaking, the care my father received from all at Mountbatten Hampshire was amazing.

“All of the staff were really brilliant with the care they gave to my father on his last days and the time they took to comfort myself and my mother will never be forgotten.

“I hope holding this golf day to raise funds will go a small way to say thank you for all that they have done.”

The day will start from 1pm and teams of four will compete in a Texas Scramble competition.

Entry costs £40 for non-members and £20 for members of Boundary Lakes.

Allocated tee times will be shared ahead of the event, which, if successful, Joe plans to hold annually.

Golfers will be advised by the club on adhering to social distancing guidelines while playing. Food may be available before and after the event, depending on the coronavirus advice nearer the time.
