About Us

Your local hospice

If you live in Southampton and west Hampshire, Mountbatten Hampshire (formerly Countess Mountbatten Hospice) is your local hospice.

We are a charity which provides free care and support to people with any life-limiting illness, including respiratory disease, Motor Neurone Disease, heart disease, advanced dementia, respiratory disease and cancer. We also provide free bereavement and psychological support to patients and their families.

Much of our work takes places in people's own homes across our community.

Living, dying, remembering

Most people think that a hospice is somewhere you come to die. In fact, our aim is to help people to live as well as they possibly can with their illness. We are also there for families and friends who may need bereavement support after the death of a loved one.

Our strapline 'Living, dying, remembering' reminds us that Mountbatten is there for our community every step of the way, at whatever stage of life, death and bereavement.

Support us

As we support you to remember loved ones, we also ask that you remember Mountbatten Hampshire.

We are an independent charity which, each and every year, must raise more than £7m to ensure we can care for the growing number of people who need us. We are so thankful for everything you do to fundraise and support your local hospice.
