Malcolm worked for 35 years in the Tobacco Industry as a senior Human Resources, Health and Safety, Project and Site manager. Now formally retired, he continues to provide HR/H&S consultancy services to a number of small businesses and voluntary organisations.

He sat as a magistrate for 16 years at Fareham and Portsmouth in both the Adult and Family courts. He was a day chair in both courts and chaired the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Sub-Committee for the area.

He has been Rear Commodore (House) at The Sea View Yacht Club.

He is Company Secretary of the Blue Lamp Trust, a charity based in Eastleigh which supports the Police and the Fire Service enhancing community safety and victim support. He is now also an independent director of Blue Lamp Trust (Services) Ltd

Malcolm is married to Mary and has three children and eight grandchildren. He is a qualified Cricket umpire officiating in matches, both outdoor and indoor, in the Winchester area.
