News, reports, events News Mountbatten Hampshire invites you to remember loved ones with summer ribbon tribute This summer, Mountbatten Hampshire invites you to remember loved ones and celebrate Mountbatten nurses and carers by dedicating a ribbon through its annual Remembering with Ribbons campaign. Throughout July and August, Mountbatten's hospice garden will be transformed into a sea of colourful ribbons, each one carrying the memory of someone who is loved and remembered. Alongside remembering those who have died, you can also dedicate a ribbon in thanks to Mountbatten's nurses and carers for the 24/7 compassionate care they provide to families across Southampton City and large parts of Hampshire. Dedicate a ribbon online with a donation, and Mountbatten will tie it in the hospice garden on your behalf. If you prefer to place a ribbon yourself, you can collect one from Mountbatten Hampshire on Botley Road, West End, Southampton from 6 July and visit the garden at any time during the day. A special Remembering with Ribbons celebration will be held at Mountbatten Hampshire on Sunday, 26 July, from 2pm to 4pm. You are invited to the peaceful surroundings of Mountbatten’s hospice garden to reflect, remember and celebrate the lives of those you love who have died. Remembering with Ribbons with Mountbatten Hampshire: Click here to donate and dedicate a ribbon today For Reg Hibbard, dedicating a ribbon this summer will be a way of honouring his beloved wife, Kaz. "Shortly before Kaz was diagnosed with a brain tumour, I was diagnosed with cancer myself. When we needed help, Mountbatten was there. The staff showed us such kindness, compassion and understanding. During one of the hardest times of our lives, they made sure neither of us felt alone. " Funds raised through Remembering with Ribbons will help Mountbatten continue providing 24/7 expert care across large parts of Hampshire. Around 85 per cent of that care is delivered in people’s homes, alongside support provided through the charity’s inpatient unit in West End, Southampton and outpatient and day services at the Francis Sheldon Centre on the same site. You are welcome to dedicate a ribbon, regardless of whether you have experienced Mountbatten's care.
