Methods Presentation, discussion, and small group work Learning Outcomes Identify key communication skills and how to apply these in practice. Discuss potential barriers to good communication and ways to meet these. Identify key end of life conversations. Explore and develop strategies to manage challenging conversations with residents/patients/relatives/carers. Develop skills in practice using a variety of conversation scenarios at end of life, for example talking about dying, advance care planning, and prognosis. Explore self-awareness and the impact on effective communication.
