Aim

This training session will cover the importance of oral health and the potential effect on the general health and wellbeing of the people we care for, up to and including at end of life.

Learning Objectives

  • Have a basic understanding of oral health and how poor oral health impacts general health and well-being.
  • Be able to give mouth care and management advice to include recommended tools particularly in service users and patients that are medically compromised and end of life.
  • Be able to give practical tips and coping strategies to help those that resist oral care.
  • Be able to complete an oral health assessment and understand when and how to raise concerns.
